GOODBYE RM625.00

I renewed my road tax and insurance on 22nd December 2008. I just got hold of my RM625.00 - the ang paw money early last week from the post office. Thank-you Pak Menteri. I thought of buying a new wrist watch. But I procrastinated. I went to KLCC, I said later. I went to SOGO twice, I said I don't like the style.

Just end of last week, that was before the Chinese New Year holidays I received the "good news" from Income Tax Department that I have to pay another RM1168.75 for the year 2006 and also another RM1278.49 for the year 2007. That's RM2447.25. SO there goes the ang paw money. But I just paid RM650.00. I hope it will be over by April, I will pay by installments. This is for my own record.

NARATIF OGONSHOTO - MY SECOND BOOK

I supposed this is rather a good book to read compared to my first one - Musim Sepi. How to say the style of writing is very different and the stories (ten short shories) are damned creative. These are my words, not the writer - Anwar Ridhwan.

The stories linger around the island called Ogonshoto who is ruled by a terrible President. This island is supposed to be somewhere near Hawaii with many Japanese immigrants.

One of the story is about a boy, who was being saved after he was floating alone in the sea for about two months. When the President of Ogonshoto came to know about it, he was impressed and later adopted the boy. This boy was well behave and a fast learner. One of the traditional game of Ogonshoto was to kill your own favourite pet using your own choice of weapon. One must let go the pet and try to kill it with just three times of the weapon used. If you missed after three tries, one must not look back and must let the pet free. SO actually, the sad part was , this boy became the President pet and he was short in fact four times and his tounge cut off.

Other stories are also very nice to read. I don't say one is wasting time reading this novel. Try to read it yourself.

This is just for my record. I read this book while travelling, you can't do anything while travelling in a car.

THE MANY FACES OF UCIN

These four faces were recorded in 2006 when he received one of the best SPM 2005 student during the school prize giving ceremony while studying in SMK Bandar Baru Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor. He studied in that school during his Form 4 and 5 only. I supposed this took place in April 2006.

These three photos were taken when he was registering his matriculation in Kolej Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang sometime in May 2006.

These last three were snapped when he was registering his study in UITM sometime in July 2007. He is taking International Business, now in fourth semester.

Those were my proud moments with Ucin. I hope to have many more moments like these.
Ucin is now home for his Chinese New Year holidays. Now it is difficult to get my three kids together. Hope I can have some time with him these few days.

THE JOURNEY FROM KMK TO SEMASHUR

Waving goodbye to Ita at KMK at 2.05 pm on 27 January 2009.

We passed KMK maingate when the mileage clock 5000.7 km.

We passed KMPP, Kepala Batas. I like to snap the college as my son, Ucin did his matriculation in 2006/07.

I also focused JMTI, Bukit Minyak, Butterworth as Ita did a bit of her studies while waiting for her SPM exam in Jan - March 2008 there.
The jam we faced after Taiping RR.
Inside the tunnel near Kuala Kangsar.
The scenary in Kuala Kangsar with the hill turning into cement.
Somewhere after Ipoh with the beautiful hilly scenary.

The milestone struck 5417.5 when we reached home at 9.20 pm. That was 410 km away from Semashur to KMK. We only stopped in Bukit Merah RR for petrol, Taiping RR (can't remember its name) for sholat jamak, Kalumpang for another jamak and Batang Kali for dinner. We took more than seven hours to get home.

THE CAMERA

My camera is kaput. I don't know when I am going to get a new one. So now no more pix. And on top of it I am not that good with words.
Wait till Low Yatt.
Wait till the pocket.
Wait till inertia.
Wait till .....

Up there the pix was captured with his new camera. I have to have my own.

ITA

Ita was home since early Friday morning 16 January for her Chinese New Year Hols. We both fetched her at Ulu Bernam RR. She is in front of the screen most of the time. It's nice to see her at home. These days I never have all my three kids at the same time. Love her.

MY FIRST BOOK IN 2009

Title MUSIM SEPI
Author Ali Jusoh
Pages 345
Publisher Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (2005)

This is my first book that I have read this year. I am glad that I can manage to read a novel even though I am quite busy with the school activities.

It is about an old couple who are very lonely when their first son Bakhtiar was dead. But actually Bakhtiar was long gone when he refused to contact his parents after about a year in England to further his studies.

Their only living son Bustaman was also offered to further his studies in England but his mother denied his request. The story lingers around this son getting married and trying their best to please the mother who lost a son.
